A Midwest native, I attended Western Michigan University, and received a bachelor's degree. My passion continues to be engaging students in the learning process in a classroom setting.
After teaching in Catholic elementary schools in California, I embarked on almost 20 years of corporate course design and classroom instruction in Washington, Alaska, and Illinois before earning a master's and doctorate degree in education from Northern Illinois University. I taught first for Aurora University in 2007.
My other interests are integration of technology in the classroom, my family (including the dogs), and jogging. Over the years, I have taken several groups of elementary students to different technology conferences in the state of Illinois to demonstrate their enriched learning projects, as well as present evidence for the continued use of technology for elementary students. Working with local schools has afforded me many opportunities to serve our community along with our AU students.
