Final Examination Schedule

Final Examination Policy, Fall 2017

If a final examination of any type is given in a course, it should be given at the time that the examination is officially scheduled during the final examination period. Faculty are expected to meet their class at the scheduled final examination time since this is considered to be part of the required meeting time for the semester.

  1. There are many uniquely scheduled classes which do not meet the parameters of the standard 11 class periods. Courses that meet during the day on a once a week schedule; e.g., Monday 1:15-3:45 p.m., etc. can fit into standard examination periods such as 2:30-5:15 p.m. on Monday. Evening courses will have their examination period during their regular evening class. Saturday classes will meet during their regularly scheduled class times.
  2. No student should be expected to write more than (2) two final examinations on the same day. Any student who is scheduled for more than 2 finals on the same day should arrange with his/her instructors to have an alternative examination time prior to the final examination period. Alternative examination times are available on Thursday and Friday of examination week.
  3. Courses that conclude in the first 8-week module (on or before October 21) should have their final examination on the last day of their regularly scheduled class period. Courses that conclude in the second 8-week module (on or before December 16) should have their final examination on the last day of their regularly scheduled class period. Courses that are meeting more than once a week during the eight week modules will meet for regular class periods and then utilize the last class meeting as the final examination session.
  4. Final Grades will be due to the Registrar’s Office by Noon, Tuesday, December 19. Final grades will need to be entered through WebAdvisor per instructions from the Registrar’s Office.
  5. We are providing two different formats of the final examination week schedule. There is a table version and a two-column version of the final examination week schedule. Please use the version you are most comfortable using with students. The final exam time has been added to the student’s schedules and it appears on Course Sections in WebAdvisor.
  6. Students who miss their final exam can make up their exam using the Academic Support Center Testing Services. Students must consult with their instructor to complete a Testing Request Form, which is required for every exam. Students who are asking for an alternative time to take their exam must arrange for this situation directly with their instructor.
