For me, learning in small class sizes has been a major
benefit to my education. GWC’s classrooms allow for great discussions because
students have the advantage of getting to know one other rather quickly. I don’t learn in a huge lecture hall with
hundreds of other people. I learn from professors who know my name and have
experience in the social work field. GWC classes are more personable, so students
feel comfortable sharing their experiences. We also bounce ideas off one
another. As future social workers, this type of communication is important to our
success. We have to be good listeners, participate in discussions and be able
to relate to others. I’m confident that those communication skills and the
lessons I have learned in the classroom from professors and students will serve
me well throughout my social work career. GWC is setting me on the right track.
