The service project component of my GWC Experience Course was so much fun. My professor, Dr. Meredith Harvey, helped me coordinate a volunteer opportunity with SMILES (Special Methods In Learning Equine Skills). I knew that SMILES was the place to be the second I heard about it. It is a place that uses horses as a therapeutic method to help children and adults with disabilities. SMILES combined my passion for horses and with my interest in helping people with disabilities. It also helped me decide on a career path. I'm going to continue volunteering as it was an amazing experience. Doing my part to help people smile has been truly rewarding.
