Our human ecology major focuses on the ways in which people interact with society and their environments. GWC’s interdisciplinary course of study features classes with concentrations in social sciences, the environment, ecology and liberal arts. This major takes a holistic approach, allowing students to evaluate relationships between people and social, cultural and environmental changes in order to be strategic problem solvers.
A human ecology degree prepares you as an effective professional in career paths that include problem solving in the changing needs of individuals, families, communities, consumers and the environment. Students apply their learned skill set in such industries as health care, business, public policy, family studies, human resources, management, not-for-profit and law.
